Summary: In the exciting first episode, housewife Eve Kendall accuses a young labourer, who is working at her home, of raping her. James Kavanagh Q.C. is called upon to represent and defend the alleged rapist throighout his trial. Outside the courtroom. Kavanagh is facing a trumatic time at home. The acclaim he enjoys in his chosen profession has been at the expense of his home life, as he and his wife come to terms with her affair with another barrister.
