Summary:
"Private Investigator Mike Morningstar is hired to find Carrie George. Upon meeting her family, he discovers she is just one of a growing number of Aboriginal women gone missing. The Vancouver police refuse to admit a serial killer could be responsible for the disappearance of these women, but the facts contradict their theory. Carrie has slipped into the dark world of prostitution and drug abuse, and her best friend Susan Wabigon is dead. Mike is afraid Carrie has suffered the same fate. The investigation takes Mike to Winnipeg where (with the help of his old friend Pontiac Dumont) he uncovers the seedy underworld of the sex trade where Carrie was last seen. While Mike is looking for Carrie street worker Kim Lawrence and her friend Mona Yellowbird are lured to the home of William Roberts where Kim discovers bloodied clothes hidden in the bedroom. Could be he the killer who has been stalking working girls in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside? She escaped with her life, but her friend Mona is not so lucky, and now Kim must deal with a psycho on her tail."--Back cover
