Summer of the horse : a memoir Cover Image Book Book

Summer of the horse : a memoir / Donna Kane.

Kane, Donna, 1959- (author.).

Summary:

The Summer of the Horse is a work of non-fiction that explores both the physical landscape of the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area (M-KMA), located in northern British Columbia's Northern Rockies, and the metaphysical landscape of the human mind. Part memoir, part meditation on objects, the encompassing subject is wilderness, both as a physical space and as a human construct, and the limitations that come with both. The work also explores ideas around mind and body--how the mind's reflective, language-appropriating powers address wilderness and the ways in which the body addresses the material wilderness.
