She felt no pain

Allin, Lou 1945- (Author).

Summary: "Summer on Vancouver Island gets off to a grim start when a homeless man is found dead near sleepy Fossil Bay by a family geocaching in the surrounding area. Investigating RCMP Corporal Holly Martin, a newcomer to this small detachment in a vacation mecca, gets involved when she and Constable Chipper Knox Singh notice drug paraphernalia nearby. The man's wallet has stolen identification, an old photo, and several new hundred-dollar bills. Another drifter suggests that the victim had come to town to hook up with an old girlfriend, who says that the man is Joel Clavir, the long-lost criminal brother of a respected local woman, and that he has come to try to collect on his sister's recent big lottery win. More information leads Holly to believe that Joel had something of value, which he hid at the site of his death."--Fantastic Fiction website.
